 The Current GM

CURRENT GM - Mark Benvenga
Welcomes a new player after a trade with Anaheim.

 How I joined the FHL

" I joined after seeing the original posting in rec.sports.hockey.
I really wanted St. Louis, but the jerk who ended up not even running
the team got them first, so I settled for Chicago. As with others, it
was my first taste of fantasy hockey, and I seriously overbid on my
own players (Roenick, Chelios, Belfour) leaving me little money to build
much of a team around them. Also, when I sent in my initial roster, somehow
I neglected to add Joe Murphy to the list (it was written down, but I some
how passed over him as I typed it in), so he wasn't even in the first season
of the FHL. All this put my franchise in deep doo doo the first season, and
I had to build from there. I was able to build a winner over the following
seasons, culminating with a championship in 96-97. It's been downhill from
there as other requirements interfered. I tried my hand as commissioner
2x in the league. I always thought we should pass the commissioner torch
around the ownership, but that hasn't happened. I'll always be a part
of the FHL, no matter how little time or interest I have for it. I
appreciate how much time some people have devoted to this league over
the years. It's not easy to do."
